Winter Solstice Ball

Benefitting the

Soul Anarchist Music Scholarship Fund

21 December 7pm Mountain

Wherever You Are

Soul Anarchy is about living life on your own terms, and then helping others do the same.

Tonight, we will be helping others.

The Mission of the Soul Anarchist Music Scholarship Fund is to fund the education of up & coming music teachers – to prevent student debt – to empower these new music educators to hit the ground running, unencumbered by student loan repayments, empowered to focus all of their time & energy on passing on the gift of music to their students.

In doing this, we will create a ripple effect that will  transform thousands upon thousands of lives through the coming decades.

Our Winter Solstice Ball is a virtual, distributed, grassroots party. Paul Duane / Soul Anarchist will be DJing 2 hours of gorgeous Progressive House music and live-streaming.  During the course of the night, we’ll be talking about music teachers, the magic of music, and asking for your generous donations.

You are welcome to stay home alone and watch, dance & donate…  BUT….

We hope you’ll share the love by hosting a house party to ring in the Solstice and make a difference in the world by supporting these future music educators.  Not sure how to host a virtual DJ party? It’s easy! Click here to learn how.

The Soul Anarchist Music Scholarship Fund is a 501c3 organization. You will receive a tax letter for your donation.

100% of all donations go directly to the students.

WHY:

Soul Anarchy is about living life on our own terms, and then helping others to do the same.

WHY:

Muscic is the first and most enduring love of my life. My music teachers were a Godsend.

WHY:

This is the “helping others” part:

The Soul Anarchist Music Scholarship exists to create more “Mr. Stowell”, “Mr. Briggs” and “Mr. Mondays” out in the world.

The mission is to raise funds to pay for the education of deserving up & coming music educators. To PREVENT student debt.  To empower them to graduate – ready and prepared to hit the ground running, unencumbered by student loans, so that they can focus all of their energy on becoming the kind of music teacher that transforms the lives of students.

HOW:

On the Winter Solstice, we will gather to celebrate the return of the sun, the onset of longer, brighter, warmer days. The return of life giving light.

We will gather to dance, to drink, to celebrate, and give generously to fund these future music teachers.

You are invited to participate in one of two ways:

How To Host A Great House Party

Assignments

Ask people to bring something.  #1, Make it easier on yourself, spread the work. #2, when a person knows you are counting on them to bring something – even as small as a bag of chips – they are 98% more likely to show up.

Facebook Event

Set one up. Invite 3x more people than you hope to have. As a general rule, only 30% of those who RSVP will actually show up.  Use your Facebook Event page to share with your friends, encourage them to share it as well.

Dress Code

Have one. Keep it easy and aspirational.  “Dress to Impress” or “Cocktail Attire” or, hell…. “Sunday Best”, if that’s your vibe.  Everyone has something nice they don’t wear enough; we are all trapped at home more than we’d like. It feels good to have a reason to dress up and leave the house.

Consider avoiding costume themes (unless you know all your friends are die hard Halloween 356 days / year types). The last thing you want is someone staying home because they don’t have an ugly Christmas sweater for your Ugly Sweater themed party.

Music

I’ve got you covered for 2 hours of the party.  I’ll be DJing from 7 – 9pm Mountain.  Have your best sound system hooked up to your biggest TV, and have all that hooked up to your computer or other streaming device.
